What do I do when I get an error message signing in?

When signing in to ScienceDirect, the following error may occur:

Solution

Access to ScienceDirect is temporarily blocked when the system detects suspicious activities. Some activities that might look suspicious are:

• Excessive usage activity from a certain location or IP address.
• Excessive password guessing.

After an hour you should be able to sign in again and resume your previous activities. If your access is not restored after an hour, please contact the librarian or digital access manager of your institution or company.
