How do I buy a personal journal subscription?

Personal journal subscriptions can be ordered on Elsevier Shop or through the journal's page on ScienceDirect.

How

If you already have a specific journal in mind

Browse to the Journal's homepage on ScienceDirect, and select 'Order Journal' in the top menu.

If you don't have a specific journal in mind yet

Follow these steps to buy a personal journal subscription:

1. Search for your journal in our Journal catalog.
2. Select the title of the journal you'd like to subscribe to.
3. Under the journal title, select 'Subscribe to journal'.

   • Please note that not all journals offer this option. 
4. Select whether you would like a personal or institutional subscription, and the length of the subscription (if applicable).
5. Select ‘Add to Cart’.
6. Review your order summary and select ‘Proceed to Checkout’.
7. Enter your shipping and billing information and select ‘Checkout’.

After buying your subscription:

• You will receive an email with the link to access your journal on ScienceDirect.
• You will receive an email reminder when it's time to renew your subscription.
