PA Questions Quiz Builder Update

We are excited to introduce comprehensive updates to our Preclinical and Clinical questions, including improvements in style, formatting, video content alignment, and inclusive language standards.
Transitioning to the New Quiz Builder
All users will be transitioned to our new quiz builder for the best assessment experience with these updated questions. The old quiz builder will remain accessible until December 22, 2022, after which it will be completely removed.
Key Changes
New Question Additions: Over 3,800 new Preclinical and Clinical questions will replace over 2,000 outdated questions in areas such as Pathology, Anatomy Clinical Correlates, Pharmacology, and Foundational Sciences (including Microbiology, Physiology, Biostatistics, and Epidemiology).
Improved Quality: The new questions are aligned with our content's learning objectives to ensure comprehension of the concepts, and they comply with our stringent diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) standards.
Enhanced Style and Formatting:
Main Explanation: Each question features a detailed explanation.
Major Takeaway: A summary of the key concept in each question.
Incorrect Answer Explanations: Each distractor includes an explanation.
Clinical Vignettes: Questions will incorporate clinical vignettes similar to real medical notes, including:
History of Present Illness (HPI)
Past Medical History
Relevant Family and Social History
Accurate Vital Signs
Physical Exam Findings
Pertinent Laboratory and Diagnostic Tests
Video Content Alignment
New questions are closely aligned with Osmosis video content, significantly enhancing learning and ensuring that questions are scoped appropriately for relevant board exams.
Commitment to Inclusive Language
In alignment with our core values of empathy and approachability, we have ensured that the new questions meet our rigorous DEI standards by:
Removing unnecessary racial identifiers.
Revising or eliminating language that labels patients solely by their disease states (e.g., “A 43-year-old diabetic…”).
Avoiding biased language regarding sensitive issues such as medication compliance and substance use.
Including crisis hotlines in questions that mention or imply suicide, self-harm, and sexual assault.

Which questions are being retired?
Most retired questions originated from the Basic Pathology, Foundational Sciences, and Pharmacology series, now replaced with higher quality content.
When will they be retired?
Old questions will remain available for this school term but will be removed after December 22, 2022.
Can I access the old questions after December 2022?
Once removed, these questions will not be accessible to any learners or the Osmosis team.
How will this affect usage and performance reports (Analytics)?
Our analytics will report only on LIVE questions, meaning you will receive performance data based solely on the new, high-quality questions after December 2022.
