What are full-text links?

Last updated on December 11, 2024

Your library may choose to display links to electronic full text available for many publishers' journals through the Crossref service. Click ‘Full text’ on any search results list or record page to access full-text versions of documents.

Except for patents, only documents with a verified DOI (Digital Object Identifier) associated with them show a link to the electronic full text.

Note: The ‘Full text’ button appears only if the publisher has made the journal or article available online and the Crossref service provides links to that particular publisher's holdings.

Even if all these criteria are met, access to the full text can only be granted if your institution carries an electronic subscription to the item. Full-text documents appear in a new browser window.

A list of publishers and journals participating in the Crossref service can be found on the Crossref website.
