How do I search with Knovel?

If you have a subscription to both Engineering Village and Knovel, you have the option to run your most recent Engineering Village search within the Knovel database.
How
Select a relevant section below to see further instructions.
- Conduct a Quick, Expert, or Thesaurus search. The Document results list displays.
- On the left side of the screen, beneath the ‘Refine’ results frame, click ‘Knovel Search’ to initiate a Knovel database search.
- A new window will open to Knovel, and your most recent search term or search terms will automatically be entered into the Knovel search box.
Note: Before conducting a Knovel search, you may need to create a Knovel account or sign in to an existing Knovel account. Additionally, you may need to edit the search based on Knovel syntax before clicking the ‘magnifying glass’ icon on the ‘Knovel search’ page.

Knovel Interactive Equations contain interactive engineering equations, a unit converter, a periodic table, and other tools. Knovel subscribers have access to hundreds of ready-to-use equation worksheets.

Users can browse collections of practical equations and examples, use the built-in Equation Solver to run calculations, and export calculations for reports or sharing knowledge. Users can browse the collections and view the equations via the left panel.
To preview the equation in HTML, run calculations using the built-in Equation Solver, or use personalization features, the user must create an account with Knovel via a registration form. Subscribers to Knovel must sign in to access all the features.
- Select ‘More’ from the top of any Engineering Village page.
- Scroll down to select ‘Interactive equations.’ The Knovel ‘Welcome’ page opens.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to create a Knovel account or to sign in to an existing Knovel account.
