How do I upload new figures and artwork in EMSS?

After you've uploaded a new contribution to EMSS, the next step is to upload figures and artwork.
- If you're uploading a revision of an existing contribution, you may already find figures and artwork in the 'FIGURES' tab on the 'My Manuscript' page.
- If figures and artwork from previous contributions aren't there, contact your Developmental Editor or other editorial representativeopens in new tab/window.

- Select the project you're working on from the drop-down menu on your 'Welcome' screen.
- Click on your contribution title from the project home page.
- Scroll down to the tabs on the 'Your Manuscript' page.
- Open the 'Figures' tab and click 'New figure(s)' under 'Upload'. This will take you to the Figure Upload page.
- (Drag and drop your files or) Click 'Select files' on the 'Figure Upload' screen.
- Select the file(s) you'd like to upload, using the method of your choice:
- Hold down the 'Shift' or 'Ctrl' key on your keyboard as you click on the files.
- Click and drag your mouse to trace a rectangle around the files.
- Click 'Open'.
- Review all the selected files on the 'Bulk Figure Upload' page.
- Click 'Upload'.
- Number all the files in the 'Fig #' fields. Please note that only the following characters are allowed in the number field:
- Numbers
- Letters
- Underscore '_'
- Hyphen '-'
- Period '.'
- Click 'Save'.
After completing these steps:
- You'll see all the uploaded figures and art under the 'Figures' tab on 'Your Manuscript' page.
- You're ready to repeat the process for Other Content files, and/or send your contribution to the next step in the workflow."
Alternatively you can use the Submission Wizardopens in new tab/window if you have all your content files available for upload and contact information for any co-authors.
