How do I upload a new manuscript in EMSS?
Last updated on May 10, 2021You've prepared your contribution according to the project instructions and your contribution is now ready to be uploaded into EMSS.
Please note: If you've downloaded a previous version of the manuscript and you didn't make any changes, you don't need to upload it as a new version. Please post a note to your Elsevier contact that you have no changes and send the chapter forward via the Actions box.
You can use the Submission Wizard if you have all your content files available for upload and contact information for any co-authors.

Follow these steps to upload your contribution in EMSS:
- Select the project you're working on from the drop-down menu on your 'Welcome' screen.
- Click 'Go'.
- Click on the appropriate manuscript title in your 'To-Do' list on the 'Home' screen.
- Scroll down to see the tabs on the 'Your Manuscript' page.
- Open the 'Manuscript' tab and drag and drop your file onto (or click) the 'Upload New File' button.
- Click 'Browse' in the pop-up window.
- Select the file you want to upload.
- Click 'Upload'.
- Once your upload is complete, you aren't yet finished with the chapter. EMSS guides you through the next steps:
It's imperative that you fulfill the remaining steps to complete submission of your chapter, especially 'Submit your contribution.'
