Is the content on ClinicalKey peer reviewed?

Last updated on September 05, 2025

ClinicalKey has different content types from many sources, each of which has its own peer-review and editorial processes.

ClinicalKey has 1,100+ Books (all published by Elsevier); 650+ Journals (most published by Elsevier and some licensed); 4,000+ Practice Guidelines (available as either full-text Journal articles or links to summaries from the National Guideline Clearinghouse); Patient Education; and Drug Information (provided by Gold Standard). Elsevier's content is subject to a rigorous peer-review process by doctors, clinical pharmacists, and nurses to ensure its reliability.

The frequency of updates as well as the level of evidence depend on the source and type of content. For example, a new Book edition may come out every 3 or 4 years, and Journals might be quarterly or biweekly depending on the title, but Drugs are updated daily.
