Why is my submitted paper displaying a "Not Submitted" status on my My Papers page?
Last updated on October 29, 2021
Your submission may be placed back into a 'Not Submitted' status by SSRN staff if one or more of the following pieces of information is missing from your original submission.
Review the topic below that reflects the reason your paper was placed back into a 'Not Submitted' status.
SSRN is dedicated to the advancement of science through open sharing. We are committed to providing a reliable resource for authors to rapidly disseminate their research and we encourage sharing responsibly. Responsible sharing refers to the understanding of what an author may share, when, and where. Before you post your article, we recommend checking the sharing policy of the publisher of your article or referencing your agreement.
For more information on how you can share your work responsibly, please refer to SSRN's Copyright Reference Guide [PDF](Opens in a new tab or window).
You should review your publishing agreement, the publisher’s copyright policies, and/or any other applicable information prior to posting any version of a paper. Written permission must be obtained from the rightsholder to re-use any copyrighted material. By visiting the publisher’s website, you can find the contact information of their permissions department. Alternatively, you may also request permission using the Copyright Clearance Center's Rightslink service provided on the webpage of the desired content.
How do I fix the problem? If you do not hold copyright to your paper, you must obtain publisher permission and provide that permission to SSRN. If you receive permission to post a paper to SSRN, you can provide your permission documentation to SSRN Support via a Ticket. Permission can be provided in the form of a letter, email chain, or the copyright transfer agreement/publishing contract that you have signed with the publisher. If you require additional support, you may contact [email protected].
Your paper may be placed back into a 'Not Submitted' status if you submitted a non-English submission (your PDF was in a language other than English), but the submission form did not include both the English and non-English versions of the Title and Abstract.
Include both the English and Non-English versions of the Title and Abstract in the submission form.
How do I fix the problem? Revise your submission to include both an English and non-English title and abstract. Go to your 'My Papers' page, select the 'Edit' button next to the paper name in the 'In Process Papers' section. Once in the submission form, provide both an English and non-English version of the Title and the Abstract and click 'Submit to SSRN'.

Your paper may be placed back into a 'Not Submitted' status if all the author(s) were not included on the PDF.
All authors must be noted on the PDF. In addition, all authors should be displayed with their affiliations.
How do I fix the problem? Contact SSRN using the links below to submit a support ticket.
The title you entered on the submission form is missing from the PDF, or the title you entered in the submission form is different from the title shown in the PDF.
The Title you provide in the SSRN Submission Form must match the Title of your paper in your PDF file.
How do I fix the problem? You will need to revise your PDF to include the paper title. Once you have updated your PDF, go to your My Papers page, select the 'Edit' button next to the paper name in the 'In Process Papers' section, upload the new PDF and ensure titles match, then click 'Submit Revision'.
