Can I submit a previously published paper to SSRN?
Last updated on April 22, 2026
SSRN’s mission is to help researchers by providing a trustworthy, high-quality place to share preprints and early-stage research. To strengthen trust and better support researchers, we now apply enhanced integrity checks to every submission, overseen by our Research Integrity Team. In response to increasing concerns about predatory publishers and AI-generated submissions in life sciences, healthcare, computer science, and engineering, SSRN will no longer post final, peer reviewed articles in these fields. Instead, we will focus on hosting unpublished, high-quality preprints, and early-stage research in these areas. We will continue to accept most published content in other fields, such as law, economics, and finance.
We will keep collaborating with the research community to update our policies, so SSRN remains a trustworthy, useful platform for scholarly communication. All postings are subject to passing our integrity checks.
