How do I view research data?

Elsevier encourages authors to share their research data when submitting a manuscript. Some examples of research data are raw data, processed data, software and algorithms. The most common data files and how to view them are described in our FAQ on supplementary material.

Data Policy

When the author decides to provide research data, they can do so in a range of ways such as depositing their data in a repository and citing or linking to their data from their work, publishing the research object in a research elements journal, etc. Elsevier journals follow different guidelines when it comes to sharing research data, as outlined in each journal’s Guide for Authors.

Data availability

In some cases, authors did not generate or use any data to prepare their paper, or are unable to share their data (e.g. the data is confidential or they do not have necessary permissions). In other cases, research data is available upon request. To request the data, contact the corresponding author of the article.
