What is the review process?
Last updated on June 14, 2024
Review process is the stage where Editors review the author’s submitted version and share their inputs. You can track the stage of your article by logging into your submission system (EMSS).
Upon submission, your article will be reviewed by the Editor. If required, they will return your article to you with review comments so that you can revise your article. Once you've revised your article, you'll send it back to the Editor via EMSS. The Editor will review your article again, often to simply check the changes have been made. At this point the article will be returned to you again if further changes are needed or will be passed to the Content Project Manager who will then send it through to the typesetter to begin the proofing process.
You can track the stage your chapter is at by checking the ‘Manuscript Status’ Bar by logging into EMSS. The black dot indicates who is currently working on your chapter, and the orange square indicates how far through the process your article has gone.
You can contact any or all of the Reviewer/Editors through the Notes facility in EMSS.
For instructions on how to use EMSS, please visit the EMSS section of the FAQs.
