Why can’t I upload my artwork or figures to EMSS?

Last updated on June 16, 2021

There are three possible causes to why you can't upload artwork or figures:

  • You've lost internet connection or your connection is very slow.
  • The size of the file you're trying to upload exceeds 1GB.
  • The chapter is not in your workflow step.

Solutions

Lost or slow Internet connection:

If your internet connection is causing the problem, please contact your internet service provider or system administrator.

File size exceeds 1GB:

  1. Try to reduce the file size of your artwork or figure.
  2. When it's not possible to reduce file size, contact your Developmental Editor or Editorial Project Manager to discuss an alternative file transfer method (e.g. Dropbox).

“Uploading disabled” because chapter is not in your workflow step:

If the chapter is in the next workflow step after yours, you can attempt to Recall Your Chapter.

Alternatively, contact your Elsevier Editor and request the chapter be returned to your workflow step.
