To facilitate communication between Authors and Editors, EMSS allows you to add notes to:
●The manuscript file you have uploaded.
●Each artwork or figure file you have uploaded.
●Any other file (e.g., video) you upload to the ‘Other Content’ tab.
How
Follow these steps to post a note in EMSS and send a copy to your Editor(s).
Select the project you are working on from the drop-down menu on your 'Welcome' screen and click 'Go'.
Click on a manuscript title in your 'To-Do' list on the 'Home' page.
Scroll down to the tabs on the 'Your Manuscript' page.
Choose where you want to post a note:
●Click the 'Manuscript' tab to add a note to your manuscript.
●Click the 'Figures' tab to add a note to your artwork or figure(s).
●Click on the ‘Other Content’ tab to add a note to any other file you have uploaded (e.g. a video).
Locate the version of the manuscript, the artwork/figure or other file where you want to post a note.
Type your comments in the 'Notes' field.
Optional: check the boxes next to their names to send a copy of the note to one or more other users assigned to the chapter.
●Note that only the users checked will receive an email copy of your Note, but all users assigned to the chapter will be able to see the Note on the Your Manuscript page.
After completing these steps:
●You have successfully posted a note to your manuscript, artwork/figure or other content file.
●Selected users have received a copy of the note in their email, if you checked the box by their name.
