How do I manage remote access for users with the Admin Tool?

A Remote Access Registration ID is a user ID that allows remote access to ScienceDirect or Scopus content. With this ID, an end user can access ScienceDirect or Scopus from outside your institute's IP ranges.
An Administrator can use the Admin Tool to send Remote Access Registration IDs to their users by supplying their email addresses, including the start and end dates for permitting these IDs to have user access.

Select below whether you are granting access to a new or existing user.
Administrators cannot currently create user profiles on behalf of another person, but can generate registration IDs that will allow a user to access their organization's Elsevier subscriptions from anywhere.

Instructions for redeeming registration IDs will immediately be sent to any email addresses provided when you click 'Submit'.
- Sign in to the Admin Tool.
- Click on the 'General' tab.
- Under 'Manage User IDs', click 'Search, View, and Modify User Profiles'.
- Search for the user using their username or email address, and click on their username in the search results list.
- Under the User’s Group Membership Dates category, select a group to add the user to in the 'Add a New Group Membership' fields. Here you can also specify which Access dates the user will have.
- Click 'Save'.
After completing these steps, the user you edited will have remote access to your account.
