How do I customize my organization's logo on ScienceDirect?

Administrators can customize the ScienceDirect Header by uploading their logo, reminding their users that access is provided by their organization.

This personalization can be positioned in two locations:

• 'ABOVE': Above the header
• 'RIGHT': A subtler location on the right-hand side of the header

Signed-in users will also see the logo in their personal drop-down menu. To see examples of all these options, please click the picture icons in this list:

• 'Brought to you by' text

  • Above position

• Logo image

  • Above position
  • Right position
  • Mobile view
  • As shown in the personal drop-down

  Note: ScienceDirect will automatically scale to fit an uploaded SVG format image. The image in the personal dropdown cannot be configured in Admin Tool.

On the 'Edit in product messaging and branding in ScienceDirect' page, the default Header logo or text appears.

Follow these steps to edit a logo or text:

1. In the ‘Header logo' or 'text' frame, select the ‘Header image position’ of the banner.

2. Choose from the 'ABOVE' or 'RIGHT' position selection.
   
    

   'Brought to you by' display text: Enter customized text in the 'Brought to you by' text area.

   Upload an image: Select position to display an image / logo:

   • Image must be in SVG format
   • All image URLs must be from an HTTPS host (not HTTP)
   • A suggested ratio of 1:4 (height:width) is advised with minimal white space around the image.

   • ScienceDirect automatically adds white space and scales images to fit.

     Note: Wider images are better suited for the 'ABOVE' position.

3. In 'Header link URL', you can specify a URL that the image will link to. (Users clicking on the image will be directed to the URL.)
4. Click 'Save'.
